Leontyne Price featured second on pictures of black women was born Mary Violet is a remarkably endowed black American soprano, her father was a carpenter and her mother a midwife who also possessed a lovely soprano voice. Leontyne received vocal training at a very early age, her formal music instruction began at the age of 5. While Leontyne's mother use to sing in the church choir, Leontyne used to sit enthralled in her baby stroller.

Condoleezza Rice
Rice served as President George W. Bush's National Security Advisor from January 22, 2001 to January 2005. On November 16, 2004, after Colin Powell resigned as the Secretary of State, President Bush named Rice as Powell's successor. Dr. Rice's nomination was confirmed by the Senate on January 26, 2005.

In addition to Rice's service in the government, she was on numerous boards of directors, including the International Advisory Council of J.P. Morgan, Chevron, the Hewlett Foundation, and Charles Schwab. Rice also co-founded the Center for a New Generation, a support fund for schools, in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, California.
